CRM extension in the Montelektro HUB: from quote request to issued quote in one Mendix application, with an AI agent up front

A developer seen from behind at a desk in front of two monitors: one shows the wireframe of a web interface, the other code and a video call; through the window, a seaside port with cranes and a hillside castle at dusk.

Background of the cooperation

Montelektro is an international engineering company headquartered in Kastav, Croatia. BlackBelt had already delivered an application for it built on the Mendix low-code platform: the Montelektro HUB. When it came to supporting sales, no new system was built: the CRM was created as a continuation and extension of the HUB.

Challenge

The quotation process runs from the arrival of a request for quotation through pricing to the issued quote, and the status of every lead and every opportunity has to be tracked along the way. On top of that, requests for quotation arrive by e-mail in unstructured form, and until then users could follow their tasks only through e-mails. The CRM had to bring this entire journey into one place.

Solution

BlackBelt extended the Montelektro HUB with CRM functions. In the application, sales opportunities (Opportunity), the related quotations (Quotation) and the programmes that frame them (Overall project) can be managed in one place. An Opportunity can also be created from an e-mail, while the incoming, unstructured e-mail flow is processed by an intelligent AI agent. Chart views support the overview, and in-app messaging helps users keep track of their tasks. The development was carried out by a single BlackBelt specialist on the Mendix platform, in four months.

Results

In the completed CRM, Montelektro's quotation process can be followed in one place, from the request for quotation to the issued quote, at the level of every lead and opportunity. An AI agent supports the processing of incoming e-mails, charts provide an overview of the data, and the most important tasks can now be followed not only by e-mail but within the application itself.
