An ecosystem instead of applications: the new direction of enterprise IT

At the BlackBelt Business Breakfast at CEU on 29 September, 50 participants from 31 companies discussed how AI, digital customer experience and modernisation turn into business value.
How do new technologies become real business value? This was the central question of the BlackBelt Business Breakfast on 29 September, where 50 participants from 31 companies discussed the future of enterprise IT. The professional morning held at CEU covered the practical use of AI, digital customer experience and the modernisation of legacy systems alike.
The programme: an ecosystem instead of separate applications
The title of the event – An ecosystem instead of applications – summed up one of the day's key ideas well: the needs of customers and companies are increasingly hard to serve with separate applications. Emőke Kiss, E-commerce Director at Auchan, spoke about how Agentic AI can make the digital customer experience more personal and proactive. Connected systems create value when they do not only react, but can also recognise the user's intent.
Modernising legacy systems
Renewing enterprise IT was also an important topic of the discussions. Gábor Privitzky, CTO of BlackBelt, showed how legacy systems can be made more transparent and flexible without a complete, costly rebuild. Gradual modernisation can reduce the risk of changes and give more room for business growth.
AI in everyday business operations
Róbert Csákány, R&D Architect at BlackBelt, brought the everyday business use of AI closer through the examples of FleetScan, LoadScan and InvoiceBot. These solutions show how making use of existing data can help tackle financial, logistics and other operational challenges.
The business role of IT
Balázs Sándorfi, CEO of Bankmonitor, and Attila László, CSO of BlackBelt, discussed the business role of IT. László Murvai-Buzogány, global IT lead at AVON, explored the decisions between Build, Buy and AI, and how the value-creating role of IT is changing.
The shared lesson of the morning
One shared lesson of the morning is that technology on its own is not a strategy. It becomes a business advantage when a coordinated system connects data, processes and company goals.
