GLS

GLS General Logistics Systems Hungary Csomag-Logisztikai Kft. is a key player in the Hungarian parcel logistics market, providing domestic and international parcel delivery and value-added logistics services to B2B and B2C customers. Since early 2023, BlackBelt has provided GLS with licensing and development support related to the Siemens Mendix low-code platform, in the form of a framework agreement and project contracts.

To develop and operate the applications supporting its internal parcel-processing and customer-need-related processes, GLS needed a reliable low-code platform and an expert background that scales quickly and flexibly adapts to peak-season loads (e.g. the Christmas season) and continuously changing business needs.

On 27 February 2023 BlackBelt signed a framework agreement, then the related project contract with GLS, under which it provided Siemens Mendix licences for 15 users (Mendix Single App Standard Platform Package, Internal User Tier and Cloud Resource Pack), as well as access to the Mendix Cloud infrastructure. BlackBelt undertook to provide the licences and to set up the related online access for GLS users.

A ready-to-use Mendix Cloud environment and licence structure provided for 15 users GLS joined BlackBelt's long-term, reference-grade logistics client base — the company has since regularly featured as a proven Mendix reference in BlackBelt's proposals to other logistics clients (e.g. DB Cargo Hungária, Budapest Freeport) The framework-agreement structure created the opportunity to flexibly add further project contracts (e.g. further licence expansion)

The project confirmed that the flexible licensing model of the Mendix low-code platform and BlackBelt's expert support fit well with the peak-season load fluctuations of the parcel logistics sector, laying the foundation for a longer-term, expandable cooperation.
