Public
sector

Public service, public funds, public trust: government systems have to run reliably for years. Black belt IT solutions for public sector digitalisation.

Twelve projects between 2013 and 2019: system design, development and quality assurance.

Regulatory compliance and transparent procurement

In the public sector, an IT system does not only have to work – it has to comply: with data protection (GDPR) and cybersecurity (NIS2) requirements, with sector-specific technical regulations and with the rules of public procurement. For the traffic counting system of Magyar Közút (the Hungarian Public Road company), the e-UT 02.01.21 road technical regulation defined how a publishable national database has to be produced from the measurement data – we designed and developed the system accordingly. For the modernisation of the National Road Database, we also provided expert support for preparing the public procurement.

National datasets, long life cycles

A system serving a public task often stays in operation for decades, and in the meantime it has to connect to new systems. New development therefore has to work together with the existing environment, and data has to stay accurate across systems. At Magyar Közút, the traffic counting system was built to work together with the existing EasyWay systems. For the National Road Database, we delivered a development concept and roadmap after reviewing the connected subsystems – the data portal, the real-time data centre, the truck parking information system and the central traffic database.

Long-term partnership and independent QA

For a public-sector client, the measure of reliability is a partner who is still there years later and whose work can be verified. Between 2013 and 2019, we worked on twelve projects on Magyar Közút's systems, four of them as general contractor. Alongside development, we also carried out independent quality assurance – among others for the traffic counting system and in the development of the Road Network Protection System – so the client received independent feedback on the quality of the delivered systems.
